~He shifted self-consciously at Mayona's bedside. Her eyes twitched behind half-closed eyelids, giving the hospital staff a constant feeling of being watched, when in reality she was little more than an animated corpse. Periodically, her fingers would jitter or tighten their grip on the psychologist's fingers, but otherwise, her body lay lifeless and useless.
The Inquisitor hadn't left her bedside in days, despite the nurse's repeated attempts to remove him from the room. Not one to admit to such mortal feelings as sorrow, pity or guilt, he sat stony-faced, holding her delicate fingers in his rough hands. Mayona's body made a grunt as she fixed a wide-eyed, blind stare on him. Her eyes could gaze at him all day, but still she couldn't see him. He wasn't even sure what was keeping her alive anymore - she was barely even classifiable as a vegetable, and death would be a mercy to her. Her fingers were icy cold, and sometimes her body lay still and silent for such long periods, it was easy to believe she had already passed onto a better place. Mayona, an Inquisitor herself, regardless of her current state; simply wasn't ready to let her body die.~

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
